H&M Home Lookbook: Spring/Summer 2012

Today it was snowing for the first time in Munich. And I was happy like a little kid. Christmas is approaching, the whole city is in festive mood with fairy lights all around. However, today I'd like to offer a little sneak peek into the coming spring/summer season. To be precise: I'd like to show you the spring/summer 2012 lookbook of H&M Home

Ever since H&M launched their home collection I was a regular and recurring customer. If you ever happen to come to Munich, feel free to drop by for a cup of tea or coffee and you will see cushions, tea towels, bath mats, bath towels, bed linens, place mats from H&M Home. Now I am very excited and looking forward to their spring/summer 2012 collection. The lookbook is very promising: The collection encompasses colourful florals and fruit prints, graphic patterns, and mud coloured linens. As usual, H&M Home pays attention to details with frills, flounces, embroidery on cushions and bed covers. Have a look and judge for yourself!

  2. That's true, Desiree. Here, I love the blue and mud coloured linens. Guess I will get myself some of these goodies once they're hitting the stores.

  3. Love how they've displayed the product in the apple crates. They have those little storage baskets in the UK Christmas collection and I have a few along the top shelf of the kitchen cupboards for hiding all kinds of things (read: all the tea towels I'm addicted to buying from H&M Home!) tee hee!

  4. Hi Igor. Certainly hadn't expected to see Spring/Summer things just yet :-)

OK... please do not hate me, but I just don't see the attraction of H&M Home. Granted the image with the bread and paint lids is a lovely one. I don't like the ethos that a store such as H&M has around selling many things so cheaply. People are inevitably going to consume more and buy more if they get caught in that cycle.

I know that one of my key philosophy tenets as an interior designer is that good design should be long-lasting. And for me H&M Home just doesn't meet that fundamental consideration of good design. I did visit the H&M Home Store on London's Oxford Street just to see what it was all about. Being honest, I could not see any real aesthetic and many things looked/felt poor quality.

OK so now I've talked myself out of any invite to your home should I visit Munich... I'll bid you good night :-)

  7. Hey Igor, looks lovely! I like to see the H&M home magazine but then I end up feeling slightly frustrated because all the furniture and some accesoires I see are of course not for sale.. anyway where is the H&M home in Munich, never seen it..

  8. Hi Vicky. Unfortunately we do not have a stationary H&M Home store in Munich so I order online. In Germany they have a store in Frankfurt I think.

  9. I had no idea that H&M had a home line. I'll need to take a look at that. And I've only ever been in Munich in the spring time (Easter...although it was snowing then too!), and I would just LOVE to see it at Christmas! Must be amazing!

  10. I'm especially loving the Turkish-style striped textiles! It will be interesting to see what is available in the US once H&M Home launches here. I have heard, though, they may only be offering an online shop for their US Home line, and not an actual store.

  11. Hi Gina. Well even in Germany they only have a few stores with the home line. For example, there is no store in Munich so I only order online.

  14. There is so much goodness at H&M! Sadly we're often limited to what we can get our hands on in the states. =( But this is a collection to love!
