5 Happy Inspirations: For 'Your' Habitat

It is a matter of fact, there's been a lot of ups and downs for Habitat lately. But with its latest collection, Habitat seems to resurrect like the mysterious Phoenix out of the ashes. Now if you are looking for great furniture and home accessories for your private 'habitat', you might want to pop around Habitat's refreshed website with a fine selection of reasonably priced home goodies. Here's my five happy picks that I would get in an instant for a new room:

1. The 'Cori' sofa looks so puffy and soft yet it is so grown-up and chic with its anthracite colour.
2. The sleek 'Avery' pendant in black is made of rattan and combines a bohemian and urban style.
3. These little dessert plates are definitely happy: The 'Pudding' collection has a retro vibe and fruity decor. Made for delicious sweets or as decorative wall hangings.
4. The vibrantly red stool by Naoko Kanehira is part of the exclusive Habitat collection in cooperation with the Japanese designer.
5. The vintage rug 'Bessa' is very now and adds so much character to a room. One of each to go, please!

Do you like the new Habitat pieces?

Happy hump day!

  2. I was always a Habitat fan Igor and do miss them on the high street. We have a large DIY Home store place in the UK called Homebase and there are Habitat concessions in many of those stores. Unfortunately I think it devalues the brand.

I'm not mad about the pieces you've shown here. Think Habitat can do a lot better, but then I don't know who is designing for them etc.

    1. I was never too aware of Habitat to be honest as I've always lived in cities without Habitat stores. It was through travels that I got acquainted with Habitat and that was about the time when the brand was in serious turmoil. However, I paid attention to the new collection that has been designed in Paris by Pierre Favresse and I must say I love the new items. I think it has refreshed my image of Habitat and I am definitely thinking of getting something for myself. But maybe it is the Francophile in me speaking...:-)

    2. Hey. I don't know Pierre Favresse and I'm not sure if Habitat online is different from Habitat in Homebase here (which isn't great). I'd love to see the company resurrect itself, but don't think it will ever return to the glory days it once enjoyed - which is such a shame.

  4. Wow, schöner Teppich! Habitat ist ja fast um die Ecke, aber FrauSchmitt ist leider gerade bankrupt - schade. ;)
