From Place To Space: Go West - Seattle

Last Monday I revealed my big US & Canada trip and where I will be based in San Francisco. Today I want to tell you a bit about the cool abode where I am going to be staying in Seattle. I booked a stylish garden cottage in the vibrant Capitol Hill district in central Seattle through airbnb and I can't wait to discover this cute cottage and the city of Seattle.

I am sharing a few shots of the cute cottage that is owned and rented by a nice couple of natives from the Pacific Northwest who work as an environmental attorney and freelance photographer. The cottage is beautifully decorated with vibrant colour pops and eye-catching details plus it has a wonderful garden just in front of it - what's more to wish for?

I am absolutely impatient to discover Seattle. I've always wanted to go to the bustling city in Washington and discover its vibrant life and spectacular surroundings. I will cruise the Puget Sound, visit the Mt. Rainier national park, meet a local blogger friend, take in the views from the famous Space Needle and have lots of good coffee. And I am not afraid of rain - so I guess I am ready for Seattle! Just two more weeks!

Happy new week, friends!

  1. Oh my, this little place is such a cutie - GREAT find! I really like it when kitchens are open plan and have an island-style work surface because it feels like cooking is a more sociable activity. Always wanted to visit Seattle as well so will eagerly be awaiting your report! :)

  2. Just love this cottage! I agree with Will, bout the kitchen, even though there's not that much storage. I really like the little breakfast bar and that it's sooo close to the garden :) Happy new week!

  3. Hi Igor,
you are going to love the city. For a while I lived close to the U-disctrict and ever since always wanted to go back. If you have enough time you should check out Olympic Sculpture Park and Alki Beach. Enjoy your stay!
    Regards,
    Mina

  4. That looks so nice, I certainly wouldn't mind staying there for a while. Plus, I've heard that Seattle is a great place, so maybe one day I'll make it there too... :-)

  5. Wow, so you booked a cottage AND a garden ;) A nice base from which you can explore Seattle! By the way have you ever stayed at a place with that greenish hue on the walls? Very mid-century but also rather peaceful...

  6. You will love it there!
I am a silent reader living very close to Munich, so I love your recommendations around here.
Since I gave birth to my first daughter in Seattle I have a very close relationship to this city! The best thing about it is the combination of mountain and sea and all these nice and relaxed people living there!
Have fun and enjoy! I'm looking forward to following your posts!

  8. Enjoy! I'm a native Oregonian --- born and raised in the Pacific NW --- and have traveled to Seattle more times than I can count. I think you'll find it to be a very hip place with lots to see and do, and the weather is a lot like it is in Germany (I currently live in SW Germany). You'll feel "at home!"

  10. Oh wow! What a sweet little cottage! Be careful though, that deer looks hungry :) I look forward to traveling along with you and see all your photos. Oregon is one of my favorite states, the air is so fresh and clean there...unlike anywhere else in America {in my experience}. Enjoy to the MAX!!!!! :) Jocelyn
