Hopes + Plans For 2015

Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste. (Emily Brontë)

The holiday season is officially over and I am slowly returning to a more regular blogging schedule. But the last days have been gloomy and dismal and it was painful to see 2015 commencing with such sadness and insanity. I was aggrieved by the latest terror attacks in Paris, a city I call my second home for quite a few years now. But then yesterday I could see the sun rise again: millions of people stood up in France and expressed their voice against terror and racism. And then again I could feel the happiness returning to my heart. Slowly but surely.

I've had enough time to think about this new year that has dawned upon us. It is still a young year and yet we've seen so much craziness that has made me feel adrift in the unpredictable waters of this planet we call home. To be honest, it reminded me how small we are and how fragile our world can be. But it has also reminded me how much power and goodness lies in all of us and that we can unite for the good cause.

In 2015 more than ever before I want to contribute to share more happiness for we all deserve a happy place to live and thrive. Even though writing this blog is anything but significant for the happiness out there, it is my mission to bring happiness into the world through my everyday being - here on the blog and in my offline life as well.

For the blog 2015 will be a year of change. I've been working hard with a small and fine team of creatives over the past months to bring Happy Interior Blog to a new level. I feel like after more than 3 years this blog has grown and matured, a little bit like myself, my sense of style, my appreciation for design and also my expectations from myself. This natural process of growing older needs to be visualized as well and very soon I will be launching a new Happy Interior Blog, that will be a platform for interiors, travels and plants. A platform with a mission: to share happiness through visual beauty. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or wishes for Happy Interior Blog in 2015 in the comments, I am happy for any new idea or impetus.

With the new blog I will also elevate my standards - I want to share genuine, authentic content with better photography, better texts, with more value. I will not focus on quantity but quality. I want to inspire you to reinvent your homes, to travel and see the world, to love and cherish plants. I want to make you discover the happiness that lies all around us in our daily life. More than ever in this year 2015 that has started with so much negativity and terror. We all deserve a better and happier world. Let us all work on that. My humble digital contribution will be a better Happy Interior Blog.

  1. What a beautifully written post! Like a ray of light through the clouds. Sadly the work of a few was able to cause such immense damage. But if there is one positive, it was also brought about the unity of millions. An amazing sight to see! I've been reading your blog since the beginning so I am really looking forward to your new launch and I wish you much success with it. I truly believe good design and nature uplifts us - so keep spreading happiness x

  5. The events in Paris shocked me deeply and my natural response is to retreat into the safety of my own little world. I can't help it because otherwise I think too much about the madness going on in our world and how powerless I feel about it all. My blog is part of my little world and I can completely see and understand your motivation to spread positivity through your blog. I think it is an important contribution because every little step taken by every individual person (no matter how insignificant it might seem at the time) will hopefully contribute to a happier world.

As for quantity over quality, well, you know I'm all for that ;-)

    2. I can absolutely relate to your immediate reaction, Carole. I feel quite often the same and then I get furious about it all and I refuse to be confined in fear for the maniac deeds of crazy fanatics. Here's to more happiness despite their efforts for a darker world!

  10. I share your thoughts in the beginning of this year. These events in Paris were unimaginable. Then seeing all these people and the leaders filling the streets of the city gave me hope again; when watching the news footage the world was suddenly just as it should be. (I wish that feeling would last forever.)

I like what you have in mind for your new blog - I'm looking forward to seeing it!

  18. Hello Mr Happy. Been thinking about you and P a lot over the past few days. You know I'm Jewish so I've had many conversations with my jewish friends in France, who all had predicted this 2-3 years ago. It's all too horrific and scary.

So, yes, we can all in our little way do something and spread happiness. Me, I would send a truck load of What's Bugging You? maps to all these fanatics out there. That should sort them:-))

Happy New Year and I'm really looking forward to your new site.

BTW, can I have a sneak peek?!
