Happy Interior Blog Recommends...

Please don't tell me you are already in a full Xmas mode for your home decoration. Cause I am not. Not yet. The past autumn days were too sunny and too mild to think of snow and Xmas ornaments. Instead I am inspired by nature inspired hues for our interiors, with splashes of fresh and invigorating greens juxtaposed dramatically with darker colors or black. So this week's product recommendations sort of grasp the idea I have in mind:

1. HAY document folder via La Maison d'Anna G.
2. The DL 01 lamp by Estall is a fashion object as the shade covers can be changed and come in various colors.
3. This cute pastel colored plant pot by Leif Shop is a winner!
4. A black leather rug made of recycled materials - one of the great pieces by Rug Solid.
5. Add a tropical breeze to your home with this quilted cushion by Malagoon.

Happy hump day, friends!

Happy Interior Blog Recommends...

Here comes a novelty in Happy Interior Blog's third year of existence: The blog series '5 Happy Inspirations' will from now on be entitled 'Happy Interior Blog Recommends…' and will continue to be a product focus post where I share my favorite finds of the week. The number of recommendations will vary according to my loot, but be assured that it will continue to share things that please my eye and threat my budget!

This week's recommendations happen to have an overarching room theme - you guessed right, it's goodies for the bedroom. I mean the paper goods can be used anywhere else too, but I can see those in this entire colour scheme for a calm bedroom. But let's see in detail what we have:

1. These bedlinen are sheer luxury for your skin! Evencki is a Berlin based studio specialized in high quality bedlinen sourced in Europe. The fabric is woven in Italy and sewn in Poland. And this fabulous set above comes in a colour that makes me smile: Gentleman's Pink. Moreover, Evencki offers bespoke bedlinen. Now we speak bourgeois!

2. Tomorrow I am off to a showroom opening of Vartian Carpets in Munich. While doing some pre-openening research I've discovered their wonderful 'Remixed Orientals' collection featuring handmade rugs from various corners of the world. The rug above is called 'Mahal Coast' and is my personal pick.

3. The Munich based paper goods label Ni Yui is a tiny workshop experimenting with poetic themes and special colours on quality paper. They produce charming postcards and paper light bags with sensuous motives such as the ones shown above.

4. I am the kind of guy who always reads before falling asleep. So a good table lamp on my bedside table is indispensable. And if I had to choose a new table lamp right now, I would opt for this Scandinavian inspired lamp called 'Hydra' by Fashion for Home. I simply love the combination of white and wood.

5. Artwork belongs in a bedroom, too. A nice illustration, photography or poster, whatever suits your style. The new collection of wooden illustrations from Ferm Living wins my vote - the 'Butterfly' illustration is the charming work by Danish artist Kristina Krogh.

What recommended piece wins your heart this week?

5 Happy Inspirations: Outdoors Goes Indoors

With the new monthly blog series 'Urban Jungle Bloggers' I am sharing my passion for the outdoors world that sometimes can be brought indoors in the form of little plant collections, flowers or windowsill gardens. This has been the guiding thought for today's selection of five goodies: They all bring the outdoors indoors. A bit of nature for your happy home if you want so. Let's have a closer look on what I've curated for you:

1. 'Into The Wild' wallpaper by Hibou Home: What a lovely wallpaper design, especially for a nursery or a even a little feature wall for the reading nook. It's like spending a time out there in the woods while gazing at this playful wallpaper design.

2. Joules Yellow Garden Boots by Garden XL: Here comes the ultimate fashion accessory for all you urban gardeners out there - now how fancy are these yellow and blue striped garden boots? Oh my, I wish I had a garden to jump around with these boots. I don't even care that they are marked as 'for women'. Oy!

3. Blue ocean cushion by Tye: The new Swedish online store boasts with beautiful, nature inspired home textiles. My absolute favorite is this blue ocean cushion. It brings the waves right onto your sofa!

4. 'Flower Child' art print by Clare Elsaesser via Etsy: How about a fresh bunch of flowers? If you couldn't make it to the flower market or your local supermarket, you can adorn your home's walls with this wonderful flower art print.

5. Linen wrapped pots by Terrain: If you are growing a little indoor or outdoor garden with potted plants, opt for these vintage looking pots. They look like they've been outside forever facing the ever changing weather caprices.

So, will you bring some outdoors indoors in your home?

5 Happy Inspirations: An Autumn Shopping List

Autumn has stroke Munich - the mornings are misty, the days overcast, and the evenings foggy and cold. The changing of seasons always triggers a desire to change a few little things in my home, too. Today's five home accessories mirror my autumn feeling for the home - it is rustic, slightly industrial vibe counteracted by warm, fluffy textures in neutral hues and dusky blues.

So my shopping wishlist for autumn has the following goodies on it:

1. House Doctor desk lamp via Design Vintage. 2. Copper pots by H. Skjalm P. 3. Fluffy cushion by milanari.com. 4. Vacuum jug in ocean blue by Stelton. 5. Botanical print by Wallography.

What's your pick for this autumn season? Happy autumn/fall!

This feeling is wonderfully depicted with the five goodies I've picked for you today. I hope you will love them as much as I do! Which one would be your favorite?

1. Dotted linen bedding via Etsy; 2. Frankie magazine via Happy Home; 3. Light garland via Happy Lights; 4. Storm lamp via milanari.com; 5. Plate via Marimekko.

Happy Thursday, folks!

5 Happy Inspirations: Mid-Week Cravings

Let me start today's blogpost with this little real life and real-time story: I was about to throw my Macbook out of the window. After two years of intense blogging and loads of pictures, Photoshop files etc., it is slowly giving up. I admit, it's almost seven years old now, but I am still furious. But I will have to buy a new and stronger one very soon.

If only I were that reluctant with shopping when it comes to home accessories and furniture. With these goodies I seem to be more at ease when it comes to spending money. And to visualize my words here, I've compiled my mid-week cravings. If only I could, I'd say: I'll take all of these to go, please!

1. Dhurrie rug, handwoven in India, via Oyyo. 2. Round Dorm shelving via Ferm Living. 3. Round cushion with Kvadrat fabric via Place de Bleu. 4. Floor lamp gone coatrack via Plusfunction. 4. Merci special edition bin by Vipp.

Happy hump day, my friends (and please tell me you have a soft spot for shopping, too - just to make me feel better).

5 Happy Inspirations: Summer Treats

With high temperatures in most parts of Europe it is due time to mark this hot Wednesday with five selected summer treats to bring in a visual freshness into our homes and gardens. I mean seriously, I can not concentrate at work in the office, I can not sit around in my hot rooftop apartment, even sitting outside under the sun seems a torture in the boiling city. So it is time to escape! But up to then, I am digressing my thought to fresh looks of vibrant summer colours and materials for happy homes. Let's roll, friends:

1. Essenza Mare bedding by Urban Outfitters: This looks so summery and happy, it makes me smile immediately (despite the beads of sweat on my forehead).

2. Tivoli Chair by Verner Panton from Montana: In Copenhagen I fell in love with this design beauty in cheerful blue. This makes for a happy statement in a home, on a terrace, balcony or in the garden (lucky those who have one).

3. Ceramics mugs by Toast: These handmade mugs in lovely colours are a perfect choice for the coffee break on early, fresh summer mornings.

4. Painterly cushion by Jennifer Lee Designs: This beautiful cushion is a summer treat for your sofa - especially if it is a monochrome one.

5. Nautical chest/bench by milanari.com: This chest/bench with its nautical, East coast style is not only visually pleasing but also practical: you can store your extra blankets, linen, cushions inside and then use it as a bench. Excellent!

So, how are you tackling these hot days (if it is hot where you are)? Anything that would appease your boiling status from the above shown selection?

Happy hump day, folks!

5 Happy Inspirations: Nordic Vibe For Your Home

With the hot July days and nights here in Munich, I have started to dream of cool breezes, chilly eves, the shimmering blue hues of the North. I know, summer is perfect and wonderful, it would just be perfect-er if I were on the shores of the sea or somewhere else. But not working in the city. In a hot rooftop apartment. That's why I am daydreaming of a nordic vibe for my home.

I am thinking of a refreshing palette of dusky blues, soft greys, whites and natural materials. Well, it's easier to depict my ideas than to describe it with words so I've curated five inspirations for a nordic vibe in your home. I couldn't pick one single thing, as greedy as I am, I'd take all of them! Do you have a favorite?

Oh, and happy hump day!

1. Bloomingville String light via Tujuh; 2. Bloomingville bench via Car Möbel; 3. Vases by Broste Copenhagen; 4. Blue cushion by Broste Copenhagen; 5. Ish blanket via Tomorrow Licious.

5 Happy Inspirations: Take A (Colorful) Break

Sometimes I really feel like I should take it slower. Or at least that I should take a little (colorful) break. But then I have the weekends to unwind and upcoming holidays (yes, lots to come, I will soon blog about my holiday plans) to rest, so let's take at least a quick colorful hump day break with a new selection of '5 Happy Inspirations'. Today's idea stems actually from the great poster I've found on 'Oh My Home' which says 'Taking Breaks' and thus reminds us to do so in our fast paced lives. Then I added a bit of color to spice up that break, and voilà, here are my five happy finds for you:

1. Poster via 'Oh My Home'
2. Pink arm chair via milanari.com
3. Happy paint for your walls by Farrow & Ball
4. Aqua desk lamp via Tujuh
5. The HAPPIEST bike ever via Trendwizzard

P.S. With this bike I'd take more breaks in my daily routine. I couldn't help but cruise the city in happy colors!

5 Happy Inspirations: Baby Shower For Madame Love

Most of you know that I have never really featured anything for kids, nurseries and similar on my blog. Basically, because I am not in that phase of my life and I think there are many talented bloggers focusing on kids and nursery designs out there already. But when I heard of the secret blogger baby shower for my pregnant friend Elodie of Madame Love (her surname is really LOVE - how cool is that?!), I was all set and ready to come up with a few kiddo ideas.

I've compiled a few goodies for the little flower girl knowing that Elodie loves Liberty and its designs and that both, Elodie and her husband are not at all the 'pink is for girls' kind of parents. So my '5 Happy Inspirations' are rather playful and gender-neutral (apart from the cute flowery dress from Liberty's) and I think these elements would definitely contribute to a cute yet stylish nursery. Ok, I also admit that I know that Elodie is thinking of blue and grey for the nursery as main colours.

I hope Elodie will love these picks and I can't wait to make the acquaintance of the little flower girl soon. Happy baby showering:-)

P.S. Many other lovely bloggers participated in this fun idea: Küchenchaotin, Frau Sieben, Tastesheriff, Glomerylane, 23qm Stil, Junifaden, Hafenmädchen, Elbcuisine, Formtiere, Mintlametta, Jagentin, Draußen nur Kännchen, Cozy & Cuddly, Katharina kocht, Wohnbedarf, Elmasuite.

5 Happy Inspirations: Double The Fun!

Sometimes five is not enough. You know, five cookies, five candies, five pieces of chocolate, five vases or five cushions. Sometimes in life we have to double the fun. After I'd visited the revamped online shop Ebury Home & Garden again, I found another proof of my doubling theory. I knew this has to go on the blog for my '5 Happy Inspirations' post, the only problem was: how to pick five goodies out of this plethora of visual amazement for happy homes?

Well as you can see, I couldn't do it and eventually I had to double the fun. So today you're enjoying five times two happy inspirations from Ebury Home & Garden. I love the rustic feel of the homewares, the pretty pale pink ceramics, the delicate vases, the natural baskets…oh there's so much happiness there! You better check for yourself! Happy browsing!

5 Happy Inspirations: New Essentials!

This week I am inspired by the airiness of minimalistic homes, the timelessness of natural materials, the quality of good design. I've browsed the net for five products that encompass those inspirations and here is a little selection of what I've come up with. Looking at them grouped together they made me think of some sort of 'new essentials' for a happy home. You know, those things that seem so unpretentious cause they feel essential yet they are so precious and beautiful. Oh, and that pendant lamp has gone way up on my wish list as of now!

Which one is your favorite and on your wish list?

Photography: 1. Drawstring lamp via Merry-Go-Round Shop; 2. Bathing girl tea set via Dutch by Design; 3. Aalto stool via Finnish Design Shop; 4. Bamboo basket via Design Vintage; 5. Pot and Pan by Le Creuset.

5 Happy Inspirations: Hump Day Picks

Wednesdays are happy days cause they're hump days. We've climbed the hump and there, at the horizon, we can spot it. The eternal goal of every week, the reason why we dig through Mondays, crawl through Tuesdays and fight through Wednesdays. It is the weekly joy called weekend. But up to then, we have to tackle our duties and errands and brighten up our days with happy homes and home accessories. So today's hump day picks should do to make it through this Wednesday, don't you think?

1. Gray 50 Gervasoni desk designed by Paola Navone via milanari.com; 2. Diddy vases by Nordic House; 3. Cloud art by iamDANDHYs; 4. Downtown basket by Rose & Grey; 5. Bike cushion by Rory Hutton.

5 Happy Inspirations: One Must Dash!

Today I would like to introduce you to my latest 'Happy Sponsor' - One Must Dash! The funky online shop for art prints and more home accessories is the concoction of two happy Swedish girls who share a passion for the same kind of humour and interior design. And their great humour shines through from start to end - even the name 'One Must Dash' sound like 'One Moustache' and thus a few products play with the hipster symbol of moustaches.

Their funky world is marked by a Scandinavian mix of white, black and grey hues and make bold statements - be it a graphic pattern or a funny quote. So do you still have that blank area on your wall that would need some embellishment? Why not checking out the funky and witty selection over at 'One Must Dash'? I've compiled my five favorites here. Which ones do you like?

Happy Wednesday, friends!

5 Happy Inspirations: Cute Frenchies!

Now aren't they cute, the Frenchies? Ok, ok, I am not referring to the people this time (although there are some real cuties there, too) but some happy French finds from Etsy. Since this week is pretty 'French' here on the blog, I thought it would be a nice idea to have a closer look on home accessories from France, too.

I was browsing the online marketplace and found '5 Happy Inspirations' that could go instantly into my happy home. A dotted set of vintage saucers, a neon tea towel, triangle patterned planters or yellow antlers? And what about the watercolour painting of a French fig jam recipe? Swoon! Which one would you pick?

5 Happy Inspirations: Simple Pleasures!

This week I've collected five happy inspirations that recall the feeling of simple pleasure to me. I don't know why. Maybe it's the rustic, vintage look of some of them. Maybe it is the idea that they evoke in my head of a lazy day at home with a good cup of tea, an interesting new magazine and little bells above the window rang by the warm breeze that blows into the home. A summery afternoon where sweet fruits scent the air. Well, I am daydreaming, I know. But aren't these '5 Happy Inspirations' just ideal for such a dreamy day at home?

5 Happy Inspirations: Giftlab.com

Think of all those holidays and birthdays, all the weddings, bar-mitzvahs, baby showers, home warming parties and so on. There is always that very moment when we tell ourselves that nothing is more difficult than choosing and buying the right gifts for our friends and beloved ones. Of course, the internet has made things way easier and quicker. We are not bound to store opening hours, we don't have to cross the entire city while chasing for the perfect present.

When I was asked by Giftlab.com to have a closer look at their website, I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to shop for lovely gifts online. Truth be told, Giftlab.com offers a wide range of products, but I've focused on the home section. I really like the wide range of designers and brands represented and the smart price range selection to pick the right gift. You should definitely have a closer look for your next gift shopping.

Of course I've selected five happy gifts which could easily go on my wish list. Which one would you pick?
