Denmark is one of the most exciting countries when it comes to design. It has one of the richest design legacy with names that not only ring a bell but all bells of all kind of domes. One of the iconic names from Danish design is Finn Juhl, an architect with a vision for elegance and craftsmanship in the mid-century period of the 1940s and 1950s.
Finn Juhl's designs have strongly influenced the country's architects and designers, especially his use of bold sculptural forms and refined detailing. Juhl once said: 'One cannot create happiness with beautiful objects, but can spoil a lot of happiness with bad ones.' And since this is the Happy Interior Blog where I am overly concerned about your happiness at home, I will try not to ruin your happiness - instead I am pretty sure I will make you a tad happy when I tell you that I've partnered up with ARCHITECTMADE, a Danish webshop that focuses on a few, rare design objects designed by some of Denmark's greatest architects many years ago, to offer you a great giveaway.
Today I am inviting you to enjoy a cup of coffee with me on the beautiful Turning Tray designed by Finn Juhl in 1956. Today the original trays are on display at Finn Juhl's house in Denmark (now a museum). Architectmade has relaunched the Turning Trays after the exact original drawings by Finn Juhl with utmost attention to the details. The Turning Tray encompasses characteristic design features like curved teak frame and corner joints that are Finn Juhl trademarks and they are dual-sided with different colours. The new trays also come with a laser engraved signature from Finn Juhl.
Do you want such a Turning Tray from Finn Juhl for your home too? Excellent! All you have to do is go and pick your colour of choice HERE and tell me which one you'd like in the comments under this blog post. The giveaway will be running until coming Friday, April 17th 2015 and is open worldwide. Good luck!

WOW Igor love the story and the photographs (where is the eye pillow from - awesome:))
ReplyDeleteI would love to win one in white - even though the green is giving it a run for it's money - fingers xx and have a lovely weekend,

I'm all about trays - I like to have my tea while sitting on my sofa, and since I threw out my coffee table some time ago (NO REGRETS!), I either have to hold my mug in my hand all the time, or balance it on my legs or the sofa. Which, surprisingly, turns out to invite accidents and spills. Who knew?!
ReplyDeleteAnd I simply love the green version of the tray, so lovely! :)
I'm a big fan of Finn Juhl's designs. It's great that they are getting a new lease of life lately and appearing more and more. I've not seen this tray before, but it's a really nice, simple design that has a very distinctive shape and colour that makes it so obvious which era it is from.
ReplyDeleteIf I won, I'd love the green colour - the combination of teak and green is so very 1950s.
The white one!!!
ReplyDeleteI love these trays. Trays to find which are neither ugly nor unhandy is a great challenge. I know it by own experience....
ReplyDeleteThe blue one would be perfect for our new kitchen, which has one wall in a slightly darker blue.

grün grün grün, das ist das grün in meinem Wohnzimmer!! außer dem ist das Holz wunderschön!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have the white one - classic beauty :)
ReplyDeleteThe white one, or the black, or the teal or the... you get the drift! They are all lovely but I would be biased towards the teal one if i HAD to pick. Lovely color!
Pepper

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! These are so beautiful. I love the green but the white would probably work better in my house, so I'll have to go for that one. All of them are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe white tray would be awesome.

I've been to Finn Juhl's house - it was quite a mission to get there from Copenhagen on public transport!
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer the black but looks like it might be out of stock, in which case I'd settle for the green.
Thanks!
P.S. came via the Houzz newsletter - subscribing :)

ReplyDeleteI'd love the green & black one!!! I keep my fingers crossed... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a classy giveaway, Igor! I would love to have the white one, the one like yours. I love the colour options but for e.g. food photography the white colour would be best. Common luck!

ReplyDeleteGreat post Igor. Love the blue version.
ReplyDeleteRed to match my dining room chairs please!
ReplyDeleteI'd be very happy with any of the colours ;-) They are all beautiful but, if pushed, I'd choose the blue one as it would work best with my decor. Cheers Igor!
