See you soon!

I've been waiting quite a while for this day - it's the start of my annual big vacations! I've blogged on my travel feature about my upcoming trips, dwellings, plans. And now it is time all this happens for real. I am already in Paris and tomorrow I am boarding the plane to Seattle. Three weeks of holidays! I can't believe it!

I won't be blogging but I have lined up some of my favorite design bloggers from around the world. Make sure you come back to discover amazing blog posts from the USA, Germany, France, the UK and more!

And if you want to join me on my American road trip, make sure you follow me on Instagram. I will be sharing cool finds, shops, designs, nature and some blogger meet-ups across the pond.

Oh and before I leave you, just wanted to tell you that I've received some copies of my new book that I've contribute to with a bunch of fantastic European design bloggers and let me tell you one thing - it is so great! I will be giving away a few copies of 'Wohnideen aus dem wahren Leben' right upon my return early October!

In the meantime I am wishing you a fabulous time and hope to see you on Instagram soon!

New Home Textiles Collection 'By Mölle'

By Mölle is a Dutch label for home accessories and home textiles that promotes a conscious lifestyle. In a fast paced life with a throw-away mentality, this comes as a refreshment and needed reminder that we should buy home accessories more consciously.

Founded by two sisters it focuses on the use of natural, pure materials and collaboration with European artisans and craftsmen. This month 'By Mölle' launched its new range of home textiles. The new collection encompasses soft cushions made of linen and recycled denim, chunky denim throws and Mill blankets made of undyed Scandinavian wool.

My personal favorite is the chunky knit grey throw in picture two. I've decided I need a nice piece of chunky knit in my life and on my sofa. What is your piece of choice?

This bunch of happy goodies for your home comes on a Thursday instead of a Wednesday. Hence a belated bunch. But nonetheless lovely for a happy home! Today's selection has a sort of autumn vibe - it's gotten really fresh here in Germany and I am thinking of comfy beds to spend the evening with a new magazine and candlelight. This feeling is wonderfully depicted with the five goodies I've picked for you today. I hope you will love them as much as I do! Which one would be your favorite?

1. Dotted linen bedding via Etsy; 2. Frankie magazine via Happy Home; 3. Light garland via Happy Lights; 4. Storm lamp via milanari.com; 5. Plate via Marimekko.

Sneak Peek: Heart Home Magazine Autumn Issue

Even though it is Wednesday and I would usually share '5 Happy Inspirations' with you, I had to change my schedule a tiny bit - I wanted to share a sneak peek into the new autumn issue of Heart Home magazine with you! And there is one special reason - in the new issue, which will be launched tomorrow, I am contributing with a travel feature about Munich. So make sure you look into it and discover my favorite spots in Munich!

But today I want to share some favorite interior related photos from the new issue with you. Autumn has started and this issue brings a more serene, a more natural vibe with it with lots of neutrals and calm interiors, delicious autumn recipes and great shopping tips.

Moreover,  Heart Home has launched its first iPad app and you can subscribe it and enjoy lots of extras with fabulous interaction possibilities. Check it out in your app store! And as of tomorrow, don't forget to read the new Heart Home magazine issue!

P.S. The '5 Happy Inspirations' will be back tomorrow:-) Cheers from Berlin!

Why This Room Caught My Eye

Two days ago I met up with my Parisian friends here in Berlin. Yup, I am still in the German capital where I am working. So when we met up I had to go with them to their airbnb home and was totally stunned to see a fabulously big, loft-like home shared by seven people that was one entire MESS. A huge mess. The kind of terrible mess.

Anyways, my friend Cécile was joking and saying I should take pictures and describe why that room caught my eye. Pure mockery LOL. Instead of shocking you with a 'Berlin loft gone wrong', I rather share a wonderful corner of this Stockholm home with you. And here is why it caught my eye:
  • Industrial / Rustic coffee table: The combination of weathered wooden tabletop and raw iron cast base is a fabulous combination that seems to unite two styles - industrial and rustic charms.
  • Fluffy, patterned rug: This rug with its simple pattern reminds me of a Boucherouite rug - maybe it is one.
  • Soft colour palette: The palette of whites, blues and greys with pops of black is winning my eye. I really love this kind of soft colour palette right now!
Is this little corner inspiring you? What do you like or dislike about it?

From Place To Space: Go West - Portland

After my holiday announcements for San Francisco and Seattle, it is time to tell you also about my planned visit to the birthplace of hipsters and Kinfolk magazine, to über-cool Portland in Oregon. I am so so excited to visit this city as it's been on my travel wish list for quite a long time.

I am equally excited as I will be staying in one of the coolest hotels in town - the ACE Hotel. The hotel is known for its cool design where each room has its own character and style. Moreover, it hosts the fab restaurant Clyde Common and is perfectly located to discover Portland by foot. Or bike for that matter, as the hotel offers free bikes to its guests. Yay!

Located in downtown Portland, it is just around the corner of the world's largest bookstore Powell's Books and the Northwest Pacific's landmark coffee shop Stumptown Coffee. They also serve Stumptown French Press for breakfast and that is all my coffee loving heart needs to know. Most everything served in the hotel is locally sourced or homemade, so another big plus for the ace among Portland hotels.

I can't wait to stay there soon and will make sure to report back here on the blog about my personal experience in the Ace Hotel and Portland in general.

By the way, I will also travel to Vancouver in Canada, but I am short of pics of the cool airbnb home where I will be staying, so I will report on Vancouver upon my return.

Happy week, friends!

Ideas For A Happy Weekend

Hello folks! I am signing in from Berlin where I am based for an entire week. I am working here (as part of my corporate day job) on a trade fair the entire week including weekend but all that is bearable as I am in cool and vibrant Berlin, the weather is amazing and I am meeting some friends for dinner and drinks after work. Moreover, I am still loaded with memories from my recent design trip to Copenhagen where I discovered some favorites such as the above shown 'Georg Collection' by Christina Liljenberg Halstrøm for Danish label Skagerak/Trip Trap. I blogged about it and my other favorites from Copenhagen here.

Have a fabulous weekend wherever you are!
