Urban Sound & Style With Bang & Olufsen

During my last trip to London I had the opportunity to play along with some new Bang & Olufsen sound devices and when I was asked to pick one that I'd like to take along for a street style shooting, I couldn't help but choose the cute and stylish BeoPlay A2 portable Bluetooth speaker in a dark forest green with tan leather straps. Interior Candy: 'Theresa' Restaurant In Munich

Many of you know already that I am living in Munich, Germany. Now I thought it might be a good idea to present some cool places I discover in my hometown from time to time. That is being the case with a fantastic new restaurant called 'Theresa'. I started hearing this kind of typical city rumours when a restaurant is about to open and after it's glamorous opening: people talking about the new 'place to be', discussing its design, its food, its owners, its guests. This was just what happened with 'Theresa'. I was jumped to their website to get a first glimpse of this so much rumoured place and I loved everything I saw there: The interior design is super cool, urban, industrial (oh my, do I love those pendant lights and how matching are those Tolix stools!!) yet welcoming and warm. The menu sounds more than luscious. But above all: the rumours are beyond promising. Now I am lucky enough to be in charge of organising a business lunch with one of my clients in early January. Guess which place I picked? Right. Soon I will have a date with the famous 'Theresa'.

From Place To Space: New York City

After a few stops in good old Europe, I want to jump with you over the 'big pond' and take you to the navel of the modern world - to ever attractive, glamorous and fabulous New York City. 

I can imagine that most of you have experienced the magic of the 'Big Apple' and fell in love just as I did. The incredible architecture, the vibrant life, the credit card devouring shops, the incredible restaurants, and the never ending inspirations - a trip to NYC leaves a life-time mark to every visitor.

I enjoyed every bit of Manhattan and Brooklyn on a sunny and warm September and went back to Europe with a too heavy suitcase and lots of ideas and inspirations. 

When it comes to interior design, New York City is yet another benchmark for the industry. Amazing interiors ranging from small spaces to grand townhouses set the mark for a stylish and modern urban living. Countless renowned interior designers live and work in NYC and many, many books have been written and illustrated with stunning NYC interiors. Here is just a little taste of what the city that never sleeps has to offer. 

One little place I'd like to recommend: The super cute little café-bakery Kitchenette in Tribeca. That's the place where I had a yummy breakfast and got that sweet Big Apple cookie. Enjoy!

Let's Get Inspired: 5 Happy Inspirations

 

Today I am thinking of an urban retreat - a small downtown apartment, illuminated during night by neon signs, filled with city sounds, busy downstairs with a little café and the local corner shop. Even though this can seem rather stressful to some, for me it is sheer bliss and my daily life. I do love some days off at the countryside, but for my daily life I am still drawn to downtown locations and notoriously too small apartments. So today's five happy inspirations are all about an urban lifestyle for people like you and me!

1. How about a sleek desk with a concrete tabletop by Paulsberg? I can so see a cool iMac on this desk!

2. Small urban apartments call for smart storage solutions. So here we go with a quirky book-bike-shelf combination as seen on Diet Coke And A Smoke Tumblr.

3. I can't go without colour. So how about a dash of vibrant colours on this snazzy illustration by Society6?

4. For a cool stool I'd travel the world. Luckily, with the internet they come to me. Like this gem - the Y stool by New Zealand based designer Tim Webber.

5. Speaking of cosmopolitan home decor: Here we go with an eye-turner floor lamp called Tinga by Toronto based graphic designer Tahir Mahmood.
