Swinging Into Weekend With House Doctor

Friday is my second favorite day - it is the gate to the close-by weekend and usually I am in a super good mood on Fridays (then again I am pretty always in a super good mood). And there is little that gets me as excited as a swiftly approaching weekend. Ok, maybe a few other things, like nice interior styling and home decor products.

The popular and successful Danish homewares brand House Doctor has launched their new collection and whenever House Doctor announces new products and shares new pictures, you can be reassured that your interior loving Pinterest account will be flooded and you will be drooling over wonderful new home accessories for your interiors (just as I did).

There is little left to be said when looking at those amazing stylings. House Doctor has proofed again that it belongs to the big players on the interiors market. And now you have the entire weekend in front of you - it is up to you to decide if you will only drool over those images or grant yourself a little Christmas present. Oh and if you feel the urge to buy ME a present, please pick that amazing table lamp with brass base and glass lampshade. Have I mentioned I am drooling? Anyway, happy weekend friends!

For The Potter In You: Ceramics Crush

Urte Tylaite, Still House, via Latte Lisa Blog

Whenever I start a little makeover in my apartment I happen to wonder how many ceramic pieces I've collected over time. And I also recall how much I love ceramics, especially those handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces. They seem to entail the consistency of the earth, the heat of the fire and the gentleness of a human hand. I love to display them in groups or as standalone pieces, just like that or under a glass dome. Looking at them makes me feel happy and collecting them makes me feel a tad eclectic. All these pieces here make me swoon. I love the Japanese designs, the handmade vases, the beautiful mug collections - do you feel inspired to add a piece of handmade ceramic to your happy home too?

Happy Interior Blog Recommends...

My current interior design cravings encompass blue, grey and natural hues, weathered surfaces, wood and leather, round and organic shapes, ombré shades on hometextiles. Add my beloved houseplants to that mix and I am all happy and content. Now, the homeware section of French Connection UK seems to be catering to my cravings in a freakily perfect way! Going through their website was an ongoing 'oh' and 'ah' kind of experience.

Everything on my little product boards could go directly into my home. Of course I would have to get rid of half of my current things to fit in the new goodies - but no worries, I am not all that crazy. But I could definitely see one or two things move in with me.

What do you think of the homeware range by French Connection UK? Is it your style or not? What could move into your home?

Happily Ever After: Atelier Stella

Ceramicists are real artists. They take a piece of clay, work with their hands and magically transform the bulky piece of raw material into art pieces. Gems that we love to expose in our homes and gardens. The miraculous combination of nature, human power and workmanship are the key ingredients to an art so worldly yet perfectly divine. The British artist Stella Baggott is one of those persons, whose hands magically metamorphose earth into art.

Her collection of unique and handmade ceramics has a big happiness factor. The cheery little faces on her art pieces seem to recall memories of archaic pottery with the happy twist of a witty and contemporary design. Her vases, plant pots, plates, bells are incredibly cute and extraordinary eye-catchers.

Now if you are like me you immediately want to know if these cuties can be bought anywhere. Good news is: yes, Stella has an Etsy shop. But there is a but. She's sold out (no wonder!) so her Etsy shop is currently closed. Yet better news: It will reopen mid February with a new collection of happy ceramics from the Atelier Stella. My finger is ready to hit the order button! Happy Friday, friends!

Friday's Favorite Snapshots

Well my blog turned one last week so I've decided to tweak my content and keep you all entertained and happy. So from now on I will change Friday's structure: Once a month I will continue to present an interior stylist, photographer, designer or another creative person that caught my attention in the series 'Happily Ever After'. And the other Fridays will be dedicated to my favorite snapshots. Today's the premiere of this new series.

Ever since I've got myself a proper DSLR camera, I can't help but snap around and sometimes I really like the pictures so I thought I'll share those snapshots with you. Today I've added two snaps - both of them taken this week in my home.

I tend to redecorate my home from time to time. So my little prints, vases, plants etc. keep traveling from one corner to the other. Currently, my yellow side table serves as a bright and happy stage for my Scandinavian candlesticks, my little globe, my beloved succulent and some fresh blooms. And this little vignette is carefully observed by a great Andy Warhol quote.

On my bedroom sideboard I've grouped some of my favorite vases into a visual prolongation of the big Olaf Hajek art print, that serves as a backdrop and colour inspiration. The pink, yellow, red, amber and turquoise hues are the main colours of the art print and mirrored in my little vase collection, among them the little pink, handmade vase from Fuerteventura, the yellow-turquoise cutie from Anthropologie, the turquoise crackled vase from a local store in Munich, the amber one from Nordic Bliss and the midcentury yellow-red vase from a local antiques store.

Hope you enjoyed this little peek into my home and you like my snapshots as much as I do. Have a great Friday, friends!
