From Place To Space: Stylist Apartment In Copenhagen

This summer I've taken you quite a few times to the stylish Danish capital Copenhagen. And the quest continues today and will continue even longer as I will be off to Copenhagen later this month again. Some of you might remember the blog post about an ever charming 'Nordic dinner' experience in the home of stylist Nathalie Schwer. While I was sharing the fab photography of Line Klein last time, let me share with you a few of my (less professional) shots of Nathalie's home - it inspired my very much and here is the story why.

1. Light & Space: Nathalie's apartment is an effervescent source of inspiration and it all starts with the amazing layout and abundance of natural light in this home. The high ceiling with stucco, large sized windows facing the waterfront in a south-west direction guarantee a maximum of natural light during the day. Plus, the rooms lead from the spacious living room/entrée to a bohemian-modern dining room and finally to a cosy bedroom. On the other end a bathroom and a big kitchen round-up the home.

2. Grey walls: Nathalie's dining room is painted in a saturated, rich and velvety grey shade and makes for a fantastic atmosphere - it is inviting, sublime, it seems to combine a baronial feel with a bohemian spirit. It looks elegant yet unobtrusive and the decor and furniture come to full visual force with the grey backdrop. This has inspired me to go bold in my little home too and paint  few feature walls in grey.

3. Green plants: An immediate eye-catcher when I entered Nathalie's apartment was her elaborate collection of green plants most of which were centered in a dedicated corner in the dining room. I have a green corner in my home too so this reminded me a tiny bit of my own abode and made me love Nathalie's home even more.

4. Eclectic home decor: You can tell Nathalie is a stylist the moment you enter her home. It is an eclectic collection of beautifully styled home decor meticulously placed around the entire home. It tells a story of Nathalie's well-traveled being, her bohemian soul and aesthetic personality. It was like a little personal museum that lacks the character of an untouchable exhibition but speaks of personality and a lovely home. Big inspiration!

I hope you enjoyed the visual Monday trip to this beautiful and inspiring Copenhagen home. And now let's get back to…uhm Monday!

Happy new week, friends!

  4. Great snapshots, pal! I love her gallery wall of art on shelves because it makes it so easy to switch up as and when inspiration strikes. Also there's something inherently charming about stacks of books, isn't there?!
