Feeling Blue (Interiors)

The Every Girl

Design*Sponge

There is no easier question for me than the question regarding my favorite colour: It is blue. And in particular deep, rich and saturated hues of blue. I like to use indigo and other deep blue hues in decorating cause for me this creates a cosy and relaxed atmosphere to unwind and reboot my senses.

One day I wish to own a deep blue and soft sofa, a deep blue wall, blue chairs. Oh I'll take a deep blue piece of art too. Not to mention my ever growing blue vintage ceramics collection - may it grow and grow!

Obviously, feeling blue is not that bad to me. At least interior wise. That's why my bedroom is covered in deep blue and grey hues (you can see more images in my post on Roombeez). What do you think about decorating with blue? Yay or nay?

  1. Wow! Just love that blue and grey bedroom with wooden bench (third from last). The natural elements, textures, the antiquity style vase. Simply gorgeous!

  2. I love blue as well, dark blue. My latest project is to paint the walls of my bedroom dark blue. So far three walls got done, one corner and one wall behind the wardrobes remain. This is the result. http://www.ninisworld.com/wordpress/?p=4812 . Got stuck due to a flu but will make the last wall and corner soon. That blue color varies a lot depending on the light either from lamps or from the outside natural light. Got the inspiration for the walls from the TV show "A Place in the Country".

  9. You're right, blue is a calming colour, perfect for rebooting the senses. I've been more and more welcoming to blue in my wardrobe lately. Funny, cause usually I'm an achromatic/neutral creature.

    Cheers to blue! Xx.
