There is no easier question for me than the question regarding my favorite colour: It is blue. And in particular deep, rich and saturated hues of blue. I like to use indigo and other deep blue hues in decorating cause for me this creates a cosy and relaxed atmosphere to unwind and reboot my senses.
One day I wish to own a deep blue and soft sofa, a deep blue wall, blue chairs. Oh I'll take a deep blue piece of art too. Not to mention my ever growing blue vintage ceramics collection - may it grow and grow!

Obviously, feeling blue is not that bad to me. At least interior wise. That's why my bedroom is covered in deep blue and grey hues (you can see more images in my post on
Roombeez). What do you think about decorating with blue? Yay or nay?
Wow! Just love that blue and grey bedroom with wooden bench (third from last). The natural elements, textures, the antiquity style vase. Simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSomething we both love, Sarah:-)
DeleteI love blue as well, dark blue. My latest project is to paint the walls of my bedroom dark blue. So far three walls got done, one corner and one wall behind the wardrobes remain. This is the result. http://www.ninisworld.com/wordpress/?p=4812 . Got stuck due to a flu but will make the last wall and corner soon. That blue color varies a lot depending on the light either from lamps or from the outside natural light. Got the inspiration for the walls from the TV show "A Place in the Country".
ReplyDeleteExcellent Nini! Which paint did you use?
DeleteUsed Flügger S7020-R80B Flutex 7S Base 4, BB 272, BS 312, VV 104, WW 112. If that says something…
DeleteWhen it comes to deep blue is definitely yay! It is also one of my favourite colours and it goes so well with greens, greys, pinks, brass... deep blue is definitely in trend. Thanks for the post, truly inspirational.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see we are likeminded people:-) Thank you for the comment!
DeleteNice mister! I especially love the Iittala shot. I got some new blue Iittala Teema plates yesterday & reckon you would approve ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I always approve of Iittala! I need to get myself those blue candleholders...
DeletePs. Dolly loves blue too... Blue Smoke; My Blue Ridge Mountain Boy; Blue Me; My Blue Tears; Blue Valley Songbird; The Grass is Blue... I could go on

DeleteI love indigo fabric. I love Abigail Aherne Bower Blue but my husband is kicking against it as I already have 2 blue rooms. He needs some persuading
ReplyDeleteTell him a male blogger you know strongly recommends another blue room:-))

DeleteYou're right, blue is a calming colour, perfect for rebooting the senses. I've been more and more welcoming to blue in my wardrobe lately. Funny, cause usually I'm an achromatic/neutral creature.
ReplyDeleteCheers to blue! Xx.
Well blue is just a perfect match for neutral hues, isn't it? :-)
DeleteI love blue but the deeper kind like you've shown here. Such beautiful examples here Igor. Mel x
ReplyDeleteSo do I Mel, I love deep, saturated hues of blue and indigo in particular!
