Today's blog post will look a bit different from my usual posts, I know. But I think this is so share-worthy, I just had to reconsider my Friday post and present this incredibly smart and tiny New York City apartment, that transforms itself into eight rooms thanks to smart architecture and interior design. It is obviously a bachelor pad (you can see the cool guy who lives in there), so don't expect too much of decoration or colourful knickknacks (but expect a lot of tech gadgets). The owner designed the apartment with two architecture students from Romania and explains his inspirations for this cool home. Expect one surprise after the other while you will be guided through this small apartment that has numerous hidden treasures.

I am very curious to hear your opinions! What do you think of this smart apartment? Is this a cool solution for the rising number of single households in cities? Would you move into such an apartment if you lived alone? Tell me!

This is pretty cool! :) Unbelievable how they integrate everything you need in this small apartment. Sure, it's a little bit plain, but there ate tons of ways to dress this space up.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely true, Ana! The integration part as well as the decoration part:-)
Deleteoh i saw that too!! it was crazily inspiring to see how he puts all the functions and space saving options all into one spot! I loved it ... and so many ideas to steal from his work!
ReplyDeleteit's really amazing! so cool! I'm a woman and I'd like to have a chance to live in such an apartment :)
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely optimized and very clever but I don't think I could live with everything tucked away like that! Lacks the warmth I need in a space.
ReplyDeleteI myself would need to add a bit more clutter and living chaos into the apartment:-) but I really like the smart solutions that overcome some of the shortcomings of small spaces!
DeleteWhat an amazing space, love the wall that slides out to divide the room and the
ReplyDeletehuge table hidden in the kitchen.
Awesome shelf.
ReplyDeleteVery creative space planning. Love it! Thanks for sharing Igor :)
ReplyDeleteXx. Holly.
Wow, this is truly neat and so thought through! The only thing I am missing are plants and some clutter! Schöne Grüße aus dem schönen Taubertal :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot say that this isn't great, considering all those smart moves he invented, saving space etc.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't like it much. OK.maybe it's because I'm a girl, so I need little bit more decorations or some interesting details. And I find it very sterile. And yeah, most important thing, all those actions you have to make before you can do anything are time taking and annoying, and for lazy cats (like I am sometimes:)it's definitely a drag.
I understand need for this and I'm guessing this guy or some others could live there easily. Very nice subject for debate, that's for sure.

This is Awesome! I love how smart and efficient it is. It's perfect for the future (environmentally friendly) and quite functional despite the small size. Being a Canadian......my personal bubble is quite large (I live alone in a 1000 square foot condo) so I'd love to see bigger places be converted or build to be more energy efficient like that (that dishwasher would be great considering it runs on less water). Anyway great vid, thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty amazing to see what they can achieve with the space - extremely clever. But (a but sorry)... it doesn't feel very intuitive or 'homely'. I'd much rather work with a small space to live with the things that I love. Sure I hate clutter & unnecessary objects, but this is a step too far for me. Reminds me of a very upmarket version of my Granny & Granda's old caravan, where everything needs to be stowed away.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen this one. There is one that's been around for a while that blew me away and had more homely stuff. This one is definitely done by male architects.. too white, too pure but genius way of optimizing space.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed watching it... thank you:-)
