This time it's you have decided on our next 'From Place To Space' destination. I asked you on my Facebook page to pick the next inspiring place and the winner is Italy's charming capital Rome. Well, your wish is my command and here we go - andiamo a Roma!
I spent a prolonged weekend in Rome and discovered magical places, historical monuments, inspiring cafés and restaurants, beautiful hotels and food to die for. The 'Eternal City' has a lot to offer: Discover the ancient traces of the Roman Empire by visiting the grand Forum Romanum and the world wide known Colosseum. Wander the winding streets of Trastevere, sip on an Italian espresso along the Tiber riverside and get enchanted on the Spanish Steps. Don't forget to make your wish on the popular Fontana di Trevi and feel the vibe of religion and the 'Illuminati' movie when crossing the (invisible) border to Vatican. The stunning St. Peter's Dome and the Sistine Chapel will leave you with awe.
I need not mention the compulsory shopping in Italy and the divine food - pasta and pizza will never taste the same after a visit to Italy! And regarding accommodation you can opt for stylish design hotels to satisfy our craving for inspiring interior design. For this blog post, I've picked three amazing hotels for an unforgettable Rome experience - the Margutta 54 Hotel, the Pulitzer Hotel and the top-notch Portrait Suites. With such a balcony and view over the 'Eternal City' - what could one wish more? Alla prossima, ragazzi!

I love Rome, my husband whisked me away there in October as a surprise for our 1st wedding anniversary. My favourite place, Trevi fountain and I absolutely loved sitting in all the cafes, watching the world pass! Love this post. You have reminded me of some wonderful memories on a grey Monday morning. Thanks Igor. xx

Never been to Rome but you certainly make it sound tempting Igor!
ReplyDeleteOh it brings back memories. I went to Rome when I was 16 (I can't believe it's been 10 years already) and loved every minute of it. My greatest memorie of the place is funny. I was the first up in our group so I made my way down to the hotel's "restaurant" for breakfast and the lady (who only spoke Italian) sat me at a table for two (the place was empty). I ordered myself some tea and food when this Young British man comes in (in his 20s.....and very handsome). I kid you not the lady sat him at my table (I repeat that the place was empty). And so I had breakfast in Rome with a perfect stranger from London (I'm French Canadian myself). We talked for 2 hours and parted with a handshake and smile. It was awesome. I wonder if the guy remembers it.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I love this story. Sounds like from a movie:-)) So cool! Thanks for sharing!!
DeleteDefinitely one of my favourite cities and way way way too long since I visited it. I think I need to do something about that ;-)
ReplyDeleteRome is one of my favorite places! It was one of my honeymoon destination spots and I'm always so excited to see other people talk about it. I am so in love with that bathroom... maybe it's the black & white with a little bit of wood? So simple and clean. You just inspired me to share some travel photos from my honeymoon...may just have to make an appearance on my blog soon. :) Love this series!
ReplyDeleteYay, can't wait to see it, Jeanne!!
DeleteI want to go to there. I did not have a good first experience when I went to Rome and I'm aching to rectify that. I think I need that balcony to make it all better! Great post, as always Igor!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah:-) And yes, this balcony can heal any ache:-)
DeleteI visited some cities in northern Italy but I would love to go to Roma. It seems that this is one of the most beautiful (or the best?) European capitals...
ReplyDeleteI read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam comments? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can advise? I get so much lately it's driving me mad so any assistance is very much appreciated.
