From Place To Space: Design Bloggers United Dinner In Amsterdam

One of the most beautiful part of blogging is making friends - creative people from all over the world, bloggers, artists, designers, journalists. The entire year we work and collaborate with them, exchange emails, speak on the phone. Last Friday we decided it's time to celebrate this ongoing friendships and professional relationships - we invited 30 creative people to our 'Design Bloggers United Dinner' in Amsterdam last Friday.

The dinner and the party were the highlights of our Bloggers Tour to Amsterdam. We hosted the dinner in the fantastic 'Pistache', a beautiful location in central Amsterdam. We spent the afternoon styling the place for our dinner party and worked with fantastic sponsors to create a magical evening.

The overall vibe of our dinner party was a relaxed coastal vibe thanks to beautiful French tableware of Pillivuyt. Lots of white, blues and greens set the tone for the evening and the guests arrived and took their seats on stylish 'Concrete Seats' by Fatboy. The sun set and we lit the candles, among them our beloved KOTO candle, and the food started coming. Delicious treats prepared in situ by the wonderful ladies of 'Lady Grey Catering' were the best ingredients to fuel our laid-back conversations. Laughter, lounge music and clinking glasses in a candle lit space created a wonderful atmosphere that could have lasted all night if it was up to me.

After the dinner it was time to turn up the sound with the help of our cool Libratone speakers, mix up delicious cocktails with V2C Gin and BOS Ice Tea and serve ice cold beer provided by Beer & Co. A relaxed evening came slowly to its end past midnight and we all left happy. Happy to be bloggers and happy to have spent a wonderful gathering with friends.

Thanks again to all our wonderful sponsors named in the text. Without them this magical evening would have not been possible!

Urban Jungle Bloggers: Spring Inspired Styling

The March issue of our monthly 'Urban Jungle Bloggers' series features the theme 'spring or Easter styling with plants'. I must admit I was a bit challenged mostly because I won't be at home in Munich for Easter so I am not planning on any Easter themed decoration. Next challenge: I usually don't do any spring decoration at home, I mean apart from the random bunch of fresh blooms. But the topic was set so I had to adjust and invent. And I had to it quickly on a Sunday morning. I got up and before I had breakfast the idea came to me: Let's do a happy spring table setting.

The props were to be found in my home. A few basics and decorative kitchen accessories, a few colour pops in my favorite hues blue and yellow and of course some of my houseplants. I think that cacti and small sized succulents are excellent elements for a tabletop styling - so I was all ready to go and give it a try.

Given the limited time frame and scope of props I only had a one shot trial. I added a linen tablecloth in an earthy hue, grey plates, simple cutlery, fine blue and white napkins that I brought back from Stockholm, glasses, an olive oil carafe, a water carafe, my yellow Muuto pepper mill, a few blue and yellow candles and candleholders, some stems of fresh blooms, and my plants - voilà, a quick spring inspired tabletop styling theme with some of my favorite houseplants.

I have not outdone myself this time, but I was fine with the outcome. Plus after the styling and photographing I had a finely set table to enjoy my leisurely Sunday breakfast - all alone!

Enough from my part, I am off to check out what the others have created for this month's 'Urban Jungle Bloggers' topic.

Oh and don't forget: Houseplants will make your home a healthier and happier place!
